OmegaSpace Team is a multipart group of people interested in software development and engineering. We are small group and we work on projects in our free time. CanSat Project
What is CanSat?
CanSat is a challeging competition where students design a mini satellite the size of a soda can. Launched by rocket, it performs experiments and collects data as it descends by parachute, simulating real satellite missions.
Our Project
Our CanSat team is building a satellite that combines essential systems, power, communication, and an onboard computer into this tiny package. Additionally, we’ve taken on a unique challenge: using air flaps and an onboard camera with machine learning we will try to find a landing site and steer toward it. We were inspired by the Mars Perseverance rover and its SkyCrane landing system. That automatically steers the rover to a safe landing site.

In our Cansat project, we designed an effective parachute deployment system, utilizing a piston mechanism powered by rubber bands and secured by a pin that is pulled by a servo.

OmegaSpaceSystems is a department that focuses on creating hardware for aerospace and rocketry projects. We work on various project but we look most forward to creating a liquid rocket engine. Most of our projects are closed source and are not available, as sharing them would brake local laws. We are actively looking for new members to join our team as working on rocketry projects is very time consuming.
Dev
OmegaSpaceDev is a department that focuses on creating websites, games, software and more. We are trying to often go to hackathons and game jams to improve our skills. Most of our projects are open source and are available on GitHub. Currently most of our team members are working on a game called Daito Stories about which you can read more on our projects page.
